Alliance of Students Against Poverty

Mobilize Students

Objective: Mobilize the world’s students into University Chapters and High School Clubs in an alliance against extreme poverty.

Goals: 2008-2009 School Year

  1. Recruit 1000 ASAP Members
  2. Organize 15 University Chapters
  3. Organize 30 High School Clubs

ASAP mobilizes and organizes students throughout the world into University Chapters and High School Clubs.  ASAP currently has chapters in over half a dozen universities throughout the U.S. and has begun chapter expansion into Kenya, Uganda, Haiti, India, and Bangladesh.

ASAP chapters and clubs build awareness about extreme poverty and the practical solutions that work to eradicate it as well as raise funds to support existing organizations that help the world’s poorest families. In addition, chapters from around the world will partner with chapters from developing countries, such as Kenya and Bangladesh, to envision, organize and implement their own youth-led development projects.

Through ASAP’s chapters, clubs and online networks, individuals will have the opportunity to collaborate, share best practices and learn from one another.  These experiences and partnerships will create a worldwide network of individuals who are committed to eradicating extreme poverty and will soon become our world’s leaders in government, business, academia and civil society.  In such positions of power and influence, ASAP students will lead the way to eradicating extreme poverty by the year 2025.
