My name is Yesol.I did an internship through ASAP in the summer of 2009, and I was sent to Haiti in order to work with the Fonkoze Foundation, which is the biggest microfinancing organization there. I kept a blog while I was there, and you can visit the site at http://yesolinhaiti.blogspot.com.
I am a history major. I like to think about world/international/global/transnational history. The concept of 'nation' has been fascinating for me in recent years, and I have done research on nationalism through legal historic perspective.
I am also interested in sustainable development, world hunger, and human rights issues. I have participated in Oxfam and Amnesty in high school, and I am still interested in various NGOs and NPOs trying to improve the conditions of the poor and the disadvantaged.
I am still in the process of finding out what I want to be, and how I can contribute to the global process of ending absolute poverty in near future. I think ASAP is a good start ;)
